Phase 2 continued, The Primary Area Refurbishment & Fitout Works

A construction project in previous years had already ‘opened-up’ this space from two rooms into one. This area is single storey but has a 9 tonne concrete slab! In order to create this one space a large structural beam was designed, manufactured and installed. Temporary heavy propping equipment was also designed and installed to ‘shore-up’ this ahead of beam install.

For further ‘openings-up’ of this area, 4 columns with 3 structural beams were designed, created and built. Similar heavy temporary propping equipment was again designed and installed to support the roof structure. Bespoke primary / junior height ‘wet-areas’ designed, manufactured and installed with matching coloured OSG HPL units and Trespa worktops. Wall coloured splashbacks in lieu of wall tiles. Feature coloured lighting, ceiling mounted hanging pendant lights installed over student learning areas and coloured height-adjustable desking, tables and chairs. Coloured ceiling mounted acoustic baffles (hyperlink to ceiling and acoustic baffles page) installed at differentiating ceiling heights between 3.0m and 5.0m, various baffle lengths and widths again colour co-ordinating to OSG corporate identity. New toilet fitout included new SGL cubicles, vanity units and flooring for both Primary / Junior age boys and girls. A bespoke glass sliding door of 2.7m x 2.1m designed and installed to enhance this area, partly segregating Primary to KS2. 7 sets of bespoke powder coated steel grey hand railing designed and built to satisfy Building Control requirements.

We don’t often get thank you notes from Students themselves, so we were very pleasantly surprised and delighted to be given a hand-drawn card AND signed by all the Primary Students ☺
