- Bishop Wordsworth School, Education...
There had been a Grammar school in Salisbury, Wiltshire from at least the 16th century. With various sites Bishop Wordworth’s School was founded in 1890 with numbers starting at 45 and quickly growing. The school now educates over 950 boys aged 11-18 with joint sixth form classes at the girls South Wilts Grammar School. In 2004 it became a Specialist Language College to broaden curriculum and further opportunities and in 2011 Bishop’s became an Academy. Academic standards are very high and duly recognised by Ofsted as outstanding.
