The building was a former Georgian workhouse, dating from 1764. It is now a museum exploring from before the Ice Age to modern day-times.  In 1887 stables were constructed which is today a temporary exhibition gallery.  Later the buildings became a private museum owned by a local art collector.  In 1951 it became a charitable trust and doors open to the public ever since.

The Brief:

OC Projects Ltd was delighted to be appointed successful tenderer in securing contract to refurbish  and upgrade work at a local museum

The Challenge:

Most of the building is Grade II listed, hence due care and attention had to be taken and considered throughout the project

The Project:

Manufacture and install commercial grade aluminium pair of doors, with frame, side light windows and DDA vision panels, manifestations to suit.  Existing external timber doors to remain. Grind existing floor back to bare concrete, sub-floor preparation works and over-laid with epoxy coating. One wall was dry lined with all walls and ceilings decorated throughout. Bespoke built-in cupboard installed with sink, plumbing and electrical works

Testimonial:

Really pleased, excellent job!
