Nordon Car Park

Norden Carpark belongs to Dorset County Council and is also situated very close to Corfe Castle.  The carpark has 350 carpark spaces with room for coach turning without height restriction. A great facility for the nearby Swanage Railway steam or diesel train to Corfe Castle and Swanage.  Incidentally the world famous ‘Flying Scotsman’ steam train was on loan to Swanage Railway for two weeks in early 2019.  Corfe Castle, owned by the National Trust is one of Britain’s survivors of English Civil War.  It is in ruins but has breath-taking views across Purbeck, and nearby to stunning stretch of coastline known as the ‘Jurassic Coast’ and World Heritage Site.

The Brief:

OC Projects Ltd was very pleased to win tender to upgrade the public carpark toilets, washrooms  and adjacent Administration carpark building in rural Dorset.

The Project:

Site setup works included providing temporary toilet facilities during the works in additional to the   temporary site office.  Complete stripout works included removal of existing lighting, toilet cubicles, sanitaryware, water and heater supplies flooring adjoining office redundant electrics, conduits, cabling and flooring.  Refurbishment and fitout works included repairing existing office rooflight, new LED lighting and external lights on PIR motion sensors.  Electrics, heaters, new electrics cupboard in office, full decoration throughout, new office flooring.  New kitchenette installation, new toilet cubicles and vanities, hygienic wall cladding was installed in lieu of wall tiles.  New sanitaryware, new toilet floor tiles, new baby change unit, hand dryers, accessories and new signage.  Wood preserver was applied to all ceiling cladding, ceiling beams, interior woodwork.  External works included repairing and replacements to damaged and missing facias and gutters. New external doors.  Testing and commissioning on completion.
