Sherfield Village Hall

The Brief:

OC Projects Ltd was delighted to win tender package to refurbish and upgrade this 20th century Village Hall in rural Hampshire to its former glory.

The Challenge:

Works needed to be completed to a very tight schedule with an imminent booked wedding in this idyllic location!

The Project:

Works included high level ceiling beams re-lacquered. Electrical stripout and reconfiguration of redundant cabling, conduits and trunking. Wall chasing for recessed cable installation. Lighting changed to energy and efficient LED. The ‘period’ solid fireplace once blocked over, re-opened and carefully restored. Full redecoration throughout including intense preparation to restore the wall cladding. Machine sanding and restoration of the main Hall floor. Upgrades and fitouts to both the ladies and gents toilets including DDA suite being ceiling, lighting, modern duct systems, cubicles and vanity units. Décor, flooring, sanitaryware. Minor builders works. Security shutters and new windows. Drainage survey and minor below ground upgrade works.

The Village Hall management committee was delighted that their application for funding was successful. The refurbishment has brought the WC facilities up to date, made better use of space and increased energy efficiency. The main hall, a beautiful hall with a superb beamed ceiling has been redecorated, rewired, the ceiling repaired and timber floor restored.
