Cat B or Category B Fitout for Ashford, Chessington, Feltham, Hampton, Hayes, Heathrow, Hounslow, Richmond, Ruislip, Twickenham, Uxbridge, Greater London and the surrounding areas

This is often, but not always down to you as client to undertake.  It is the finished building, industrial unit, industrial warehouse, offices ready for you to move straight into.  Here tenants or clients then works with Internal Fitout Companies, Architects, CDM Coordinators, Principal Contractors,  Project Managers, Interior Designers to determine what space, requirements they will need and what works need to fulfilled ahead of them shortly moving in.

Cat B Fitout may include works such as:

Mezzanine floors with or without offices above or below

Upgraded lighting and electrics works (or mechanical and electrical services)

Upgraded air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC)

– Upgrade fire detection and sprinkler systems

– Data and IT installations

New Kitchen, Canteen, Café, Breakout Areas

Furniture

Corporate identity branding, signage, graphics

Health & Safety and CDM Regulations 2015

Always consider health and safety whilst undertaking construction, building, refurbishment, fitout or upgrade works on your premises and that you as Client under the current CDM 2015 regulations understand your legal responsibilities too for these works.  Confirm that any organisation you appoint or choose to do these works to have the correct qualifications, accreditations, skills, training and experience both as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor and they are advise you in writing of your legal duties in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015

Tips:

It is worth bearing in mind that whilst basic flooring, services (mechanical and electrical), basic décor is to be undertaken or if recently done, it may be moved to suit the new Cat B layout and design.  Ensure you obtain the Operations & Maintenance Manual or (O&M Manual, H&S File) from the developer, landlord, Managing Agent, Architect or Principal Contractor. They should provide this by law.  It should also contain ‘as-built drawings’ which will include any new changes to
